| At Vance - VII - 2007 | AFM Records 7/10
One more release from German company AFM Records, and as usual they deliver us good rocking album - well-known German band At Vance and their 7th album, simply named “VII”. I remember their first releases, it felt great, interesting, especially ABBA’s covers and classics is a metal way. A lot has changed. Vocalist Oliver Hartmann left the band, and recently it did Mats Leven. Now its Rick Altzi who sings in At Vance. He and band’s mastermind Olaf Lenk made the album just together. Now you won’t find any classic covers. Here you get just the same music that Olaf Lenk did before. The same kind of vocals, the same kind of melodies, the same rhythms, same guitar riffs, same keyboards. Yes, still, it’s good vocals, and good melodies, and overall good songs with quality production, all instruments’ lines arranged and handled very well; so to say, here is good form and empty content. What is the sense to copy yourself for years?.. Maybe if I wouldn’t hear all previous At Vance albums, I’d like this one much more. But I’ve heard, and now I’m at a loss – it all has already been before… At first I even thought that this is some kind of “the best” album! So, I’m personally a little bit disappointed.
Good for: Those who like power metal
