| The Poodles - Sweet Trade - 2007 | AFM Records 9/10
You know, I like to speak about good albums, quality music. It’s much better and positive, then telling about someone’s failure :) Now I chose one of nice albums of year 2007 – The Poodles “Sweet Trade”. This quite young Swedish band one more time proved that Scandinavian music truly rocks. Everything you look for in hard rock – drive, rhythm, great melodies, powerful vocals, colourful image, - you’ll find here. Musicians felt and caught the balance of rhythm and melody, and this is the secret of success. This album is not too rhythmic to be boring, and not too melodic to be soft and light. Swedes add sometimes more heavy elements, sometimes – well-known methods of hard rock (fame of Scorpions doesn’t let alone many rockers, hehe), they combine everything and suggest to audience quality and interesting product. Music of this kind can be nice when you’re sitting in the car, going somewhere, and for sure live, at the concert. But we don’t talk about concerts now, our subject is the album… It’s been made really well – recording, production, and art-work. Booklet is made of black, brown and gold colours, heroic photos, a bit pathetic, but still nice.
Good for: For those who travel, who needs some energy and simply likes hard rock.
