www.live365.com - Internet Radio - 2005
-
7/10

Today I thought of why not reviewing an internet metal radiostation? Indeed some of us enjoy ourself giving a spin to different cds or mp3s but there is a certain disadvantage of this - you always know what will be the next exept for the case when you have 1000 positions CD changer. An internet radio is a different thing though! Let us assume that we are lazy enough to check what the play list consists of and just press a button...
I'd like to start with www.live365.com
This radio is never overload, namely comparing to, say, doom.com you always can expect a good connection without all those annoying "the server is too busy, try again later". Very user friendly interface won't make you searching for "that damn" play (see the picture). It's just in front of your eyes. So point your mous on this friendly PLAY and... ask why was it called DOOM radio?! The play list is a mixture of well known and well unknown bands. But none of them is a doom band?! That's what kind of dinner I had today (but it looks like they change it every day):
...
Watch them Die
The Crown
Agathodaimon
Chimaira
Chaosbreed
Exodus
Peccatum
Desecration
Roadrunner United
Dying Fetus
Arch Enemy
God Forbid
...
Morbid Angel
...
Cradle of Filth
...
Minsk
...
and so on!

Well, presumably this cake has a connoisseur. And it's called a metaloman. But for instance I like Agathodaimon and Morbid Angel a lot, but things like Death's Face or Minsk look just rediculous in the same list! Shall I call it popular metal radio? Some features are available only for registered user... And for non-registered there some nice tools as well. One of them is pretty standard but still! If you like what you hear just press a small button next to the band's name and buy this CD online. A smooth metal flow gets disturbed approximately every 20 minutes by radio ads, which offer you either a membership to get some cool radio features (like establishing your own internet radio) or some additional servises; also their sponsor ads - noisless headphones blah-blah, all this sounds awful to be honest... and bit gay like... Overall, it's a good (except for ads), yet not very intellectual stuff. Works nice if you browse the net or play some stupid games. But if you want something more a particular style oriented, don't go there!

P.S. Interestingly enough it's a good radio to understand how stupid metal can be... just the result of combining cool and "warm" bands. :diablo:
