26.03.2008: SWORN ENEMY POST NEW VIDEO
New York's SWORN ENEMY are currently annihilating the masses across North America with Earth Crisis and Terror and will continue their unrelenting schedule this April as direct support to labemates Divine Heresy. From A Second Story Window (Blackmarket/Metal Blade), With Blood Comes Cleansing (Victory) and Dance Club Massacre (Blackmarket/Metal Blade) round out the bill.
A video for “A Place of Solace,” the first single from the new album Maniacal, was recently shot by acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, The Red Chord). The video made its exclusive online debut through the Headbangers Ball Blog today and premieres on MTV2 this Sat. night. Sal (vocals) states: “We hooked up with the amazing director David Brodsky (GWAR, The Red Chord) for this video and are stoked with the end result. The location was an abandoned psychiatric ward, so I guess you can say it pretty much fit what we were looking for. The storyline is loosely based on a father and the son that have done wrong to each other, and both, in order to achieve their ‘solace,’ believe that they’d be better off without the other… rightly or wrongly. We hope you enjoy the madness.”
SWORN ENEMY have returned with Maniacal, their most crushing offering to date, and this monumental assault is quickly going to catch the entire genre’s attention. Featuring a newly reinvigorated lineup and new home at Century Media, this 10-track offering takes the group’s sound to new heights, which sees them embracing a thrashier edge and pummeling the listener with unrivaled aggression. Maniacal is now available everywhere.

26.03.2008: TERROR Signs Worldwide Deal with Century Media
The tireless and tour-hungry hardcore loyalists in LA’s TERROR, spearheaded by the endless enthusiasm of frontman Scott Vogel, have earned quite a reputation since forming at the turn of the millennium. Their melding of no-frills breakneck hardcore and the fervor of new generation metal bridges the gap between young and old, and it makes for one hell of a pit no matter what city or stage the band leaves in ruin. Vogel has been a key figure in the scene’s survival, having given up a normal home life to slug it out on the road despite broken limbs, slipped discs and everything else that comes with hosting a TERROR show.
TERROR’s goal is to bring back the good natured release of circle pits and stage dives as well as the finger-pointing anthems that were once integral to the hardcore scene. In its infancy, the band represented everything overzealous bouncers hated, and Vogel encouraging the crowd to “elevate the maximum stagedive potential” didn’t always sit well with the LA venues they packed with sweaty kids fed-up with aimless music.
Vogel further comments on the newly signed deal: “After a good run with Trustkill and several cool releases TERROR felt it was time for a fresh push and to attack from a whole new angle. We are very pleased to put out our next record with Century Media. We are lucky enough to travel and tour every corner of the earth and CM has a great worldwide presence. Plus, with a back catalogue of Merauder, Shadows Fall and Behemoth, we are in great company."

21.03.2008: Crowbar's remasters out in April
Metal Mind Productions presents the re-release of 3 Crowbar’s album: “Crowbar”, “Time Heals Nothing” and “Live+1” EP.
"Crowbar" - a self-titled second album from 1993 on which Crowbar once again delivers a solid amount of harsh, gloomy material. The album was recorded with a new guitarist, Matt Thomas, and produced by none other than Pantera’s Phil Anselmo, who managed to fully bring out all the best that the group had to offer. Each of the ten tracks found on the album reeks with a muddy New Orleans vibe and crushes the listener with an extremely raw and heavy sound. “Crowbar” to this day remains one of the band’s best and most honored releases. Songs such as “Holding Nothing”, “Existence Is Punishment”, “I Have Failed” and the phenomenal cover version of Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter” showcase the sheer essence of doom-core, conjoining slow and heavy music with some truly dark and depressive lyrics by Windstein, who screams them out with genuine grief and pain. New digipak edition is limited to numerated 2000 copies, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc.
Crowbar’s “Live + 1” is a truly exceptional offering, and quite a rarity among the group’s other releases. Put out on March 29th, 1995, the EP covers five tracks from Crowbar’s self-titled album from 1994 (which to this day is considered one of the group’s best recordings) and one studio track, which would later in the future resurface on the “Time Heals Nothing” LP from 1996. “Live + 1” showcases the group in their most natural environment – recorded at the New Orleans Music Hall on February 21st, 1994, the first five tracks are a perfect representation of Crowbar’s unique skills, delivering classic performances of some of the band’s most memorable songs. This EP clearly proves that each of Crowbar’s shows was an experience not to miss out on. New digipak edition limited to numerated 2000 copies, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc.
“Time Heals Nothing” is Crowbar’s third studio album from 1995. This time the music was a bit faster, revealing more hardcore-influenced ideas. But the overall heaviness remained untouched – Crowbar still delivered a crushingly overwhelming sound, with songs such as “Through a Wall of Tears”, “A Perpetual Need” and the title track proving that the band has no competition when it comes to doom-core. For many fans, “Time Heals Nothing” remains Crowbar’s most defining album, perfectly balancing all the group’s main ingredients, which form their unique style. New digipak edition includes bonus tracks - 4 audio and 2 video. Limited to numerated 2000 copies, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc.
All titles will be released by Metal Mind Productions on 21st April 2008 (in Europe only!).

21.03.2008: Oliver Wakeman Band live on a DVD
Metal Mind Productions presents the first live DVD release of Oliver Wakeman, the oldest son of Rick Wakeman (Yes), one of the best keyboard players in the history of progressive rock.
Oliver Wakeman is a great prog-rock musician known for his many artistic collaborations, including the one with Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Arena, Neo, Caamora), which resulted in the creation of two genuine masterpieces of the genre: “Jabberwocky” and “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. Oliver Wakeman already has a cult status in the progressive rock community. He was acclaimed both as a solo artist and as part of various musical projects by fans and by critics (in January 2008 Oliver was presented with the Classic Rock Societies Keyboard Player of the the Year award!). His latest studio project – album entitled “Mother’s Ruin” from 2005 - marks a progression in Wakeman’s musical career. The album sees a change in direction from Oliver’s recent instrumental releases and draws heavily both from his progressive roots and also the experience performing live with his band. It’s a collection of hard-edged yet melodic songs, showcasing Wakeman’s writing skills. The album also allows room for the dynamic instrumentation which has become a trademark of his work.
In mid March Yes confirmed their world-wide tour with Oliver Wakeman taking the position of the keyboardist.
“Coming To Town – Live in Katowice” DVD is an extraordinary mixture of progressive and symphonic rock, spiced up with intriguing sounds, performed live with both charisma and perfection! This wonderful show was filmed at an atmospheric venue of Wyspiański Theater in Poland. The band performed in the following line-up: Oliver Wakeman (keyboards, piano), Paul Manzi (vocals), David Mark Pearce (guitar), Paul Brown (bass) and Dave Wagstaffe (drums). The DVD includes an interview with Oliver Wakeman, photo gallery, biography, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and more!
DVD is also available in a limited swing case edition, including a bonus audio CD with songs recorded during the gig at the theater.

18.03.2008: MICHAEL KISKE - new album
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce all the details for the release of MICHAEL KISKE new album entitled “Past In Different Ways” on May 9th 2008.
This much talked about album includes the reworking in a new fully acoustic and stripped back mood of some of Helloween's classics that Kiske wrote and recorded in his early days with the legendary German Heavy Metal band. “When Serafino Perugino brought up the idea to do this record” says Michael, “my first reaction was: "No way! I don't want to be dealing with my past all the time anymore!". But after a few days my thinking changed and I thought: maybe it's not such a bad idea at all? Because on one hand it shows that I don't reject my past just because I'm a different person today and on the other hand it can maybe give people who were part of that past a different view at those songs. It's my music, I can still identify myself with its spirit, so why should I not do this?”.
Working in a creatively free environment helped Michael to look at his past with different eyes and brought the idea of working again on the songs that Michael wrote for Helloween during his years with the band. The result is “Past In a Different Ways”, a record which includes brand new recordings of Kiske’s songs taken off the two “Keeper” albums, “Chameleon” and “Pink Bubbles Go Ape”, plus the brand new song “Different Ways”.
The unconventional arrangements of many of the tracks will surprise and delight many of his fans and more surprising is to see how well these songs sound with a basic acoustic arrangement, without the “useless weight” and with new keys. “Songs like ‘In The Night’ or ‘When The Sinner’ which where never favourites of mine are much cooler and much more convincing now for my ears”, says Michael.
The album was recorded and mixed in Hamburg under Michael Kiske’s direction and features long time collaborators such as Sandro Giampietro on guitar, Fontaine Burnett on bass and Karsten Nagel on drums.
Kiske concludes: “It was not always easy for me emotionally to deal with this material. Music somehow seems to preserve emotional memories and I connect big human disappointments with the last years of that time. There's also something very unsatisfying about re-recording old songs; it's always MUCH better to write new stuff, but I wanted to make those songs mine again. And in spite of the fact that I strongly felt for the last couple of years that I rather have to build myself a new base of friends, it's always good to make peace with your past”.
Final tracklisting of “Past In Different Ways” include the following tracks:
You Always Walk Alone; We Got The Right; I Believe; Longing; Your Turn; Kids Of The Century; In The Night; Going Home; A Little Time; When The Sinner; Different Ways (brand new song).

14.03.2008: KEEP OF KALESSIN signed to Nuclear Blast
Indie Recordings and Nuclear Blast are proud to finally announce their collaboration in the signing of epic extreme metal masters; KEEP OF KALESSIN. The band of former SATYRICON live guitar player Obsidian C. has so far, in addition to the legendary Reclaim EP, released three highly acclaimed albums since its formation back in 1994 and is now ready to conquer the world with it´s forth offering. The highly anticipated new album entitled "Kolossus" is scheduled to be released in June 2008. Expect nothing less than a masterpiece!
KEEP OF KALESSIN is definitely the next big thing from Norway and will have a huge impact on the whole Metal scene. The base of the music is for sure Black Metal, but KEEP OF KALESSIN are also including other influences like Death Metal, Thrash Metal and some non-metal components, making their style fresh and truly unique. You have to be deaf to not hear the incredible potential of the band. KEEP OF KALESSIN will soon be one of the main driving forces in extreme Metal and one of THE bands of 2008. Be prepared for their matchless crusade!
"These Norwegians are delivering an unbelievable performance in Black Metal – virulent, aggressive and technically very far above the standard. The guys around Obsidian C. are extremely heavy and to the point, filling their songs with surprising breaks and instrumentation. This is how Black Metal has to sound nowadays. There´s no cure against this demolition bomb of anger and innovation!" – Jaap Wagemaker, A&R Manager, Nuclear Blast
“ After signing KEEP OF KALESSIN to Tabu Recordings back in 2004, we are extremely pleased to be working with Obsidian C. and KEEP OF KALESSIN again. The new album totally reflects the unique musical craftsmanship and the undisputable power of this band - and is everything we ever dared to hope for! You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that this band will be huge!” – Erik S. Røhne, A&R Indie Recordings
The band will be part of "The Invaluable Darkness Tour Part 2 – Legions Of The Chosen Few" through North America along with labelmates DIMMU BORGIR and BEHEMOTH – starting in April. An extensive European Tour is already in the planning.
