18.11.2006: Cult Of Luna's ''Somewhere Along The Highway'' Is Named One The The Top Albums Of 2006
CULT OF LUNA have yielded bounties of positive press and recognition for their latest Earache release, "Somewhere Along the Highway", which has captured fans and new listeners with its' genuinely dynamic, unique sound. Metallically savvy and diverse, DECIBEL magazine have named CULT OF LUNA'S "Somewhere Along the Highway" #5 on their "Top 40" of 2006 list – praising "Somewhere Along the Highway" as an album that "...makes its points straight away, evoking a rich gamut of bad moods, than marching purposefully toward the gray at the end of the tunnel." Atmospherically driven, yet ominously organic, "Somewhere Along the Highway" was recorded in very basic conditions, augmenting the already diverse feeling of the music. CULT OF LUNA have recently recorded a video for "Back to Chapel Town" - check it out at www.cultofluna.com! CULT OF LUNA will be launching into a full Swedish tour in February of 2007 in full support of "Somewhere Along the Highway".

Swedish death metal act ZONARIA have inked a deal with Pivotal Rockordings for the release of their as-of-yet untitled debut album. The band will be entering the studio on November 20th to begin the tracking for the album. Tracking duties will be handled by Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry) at Black Lodge Studios (Scar Symmetry, Centinex). The mixing will be handled by Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Centinex, ex-Carnal Forge). A release in the late spring is expected. Guitarist Emil Nyström had the following to say concerning the signing and the new album as well as current band progress.
"We are really excited about the signing with Pivotal Rockordings. We have been in talks with them for quite a while and it didn't take long before we realized that they were the right label to release our debut album. We've grown really fond of the personnel and the way they work. They are really willing to go 100% for Zonaria!
The recording is starting this Monday, November 20th! It's been quite hectic the last weeks, loads of rehearsing. How this release from the "Rendered in Vain" single is that we're not recording it ourselves, but we are working with Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry, ex-Altered Aeon, ex-World Below) which is going to be a blast! We are also expecting major miracles from Jonas Kjellgren behind the mixing tables! We really love all his work and we're confident that he'll do some really great things with our songs! The artwork will of course be handled by Seth, and we are really looking forward to what he can create for our debut!
We are all very excited to hear what the new album will sound like and are equally excited to dive into the recording process! Especially since we all have developed a lot, not just as musicians and composers: but in all ways! So this debut is going to be the pay off for all the hard work we have put into this band! The metal community can expect a great album in late spring of 2007 and loads of shows in all of Europe. We are planning tours already."
Zonaria has the following live shows confirmed with more to be booked following the recording sessions of their forthcoming debut album.
Nov 17, "Shadow of Metal Festival" Folkets Hus, Umeå, Sweden, (w/Steel Attack, Pravednost) Nov 18, Club Venom, Skellefteå, Sweden (W/Terrortory, Tyranny) Feb 23, 2007, Storan, Gothenberg, Sweden (W/ Engel, Altar Of Sacrifice)
ZONARIA is rounded out by the following musicians:
Simon Berglund - Lead Vocals and Guitars Emil Nyström - Guitars Jerry Ekman - Bass Emanuel C. Isaksson - Drums
14.11.2006: Seduced by Suicide becomes soundtrack of american troops in Iraq
Recently a surprising fact showed how music doesn't have boundaries, taking the work of a brazilian band to the middle east. Directly from Iraq, Jonathan Starkey contacted Seduced by Suicide thanking the band for their work. Jonathan is a member of Bravo Company, from Fort Hood, Texas, and is actually in Iraq with his troop, after leaving USA in October 22nd.
Jonathan got married in September, and as other troop members identified himself with the Seduced by Suicide's music. He sent the following message to Earth, vocalist and multi-instrumentist of Seduced by Suicide, telling about how they miss their wives back home, and the relationship with the band's music: "How are you doing? Well, Bravo Company 1-8 cav from Fort Hood, Texas, would like to say thanks for your music."
He talks about the cover made by Seduced by Suicide for "I Was Made For Lovin' You", from the "disco" album of KISS, which received a gothic rock version: "You make alot of us married soldiors feel better with that song. It hit the right spot when we think of our wives back home, so our hats are off for you guy. Thanks a lot from Bravo Company, we love your music from the heart."
About it Earth says: "That's a fact which shows how music doesn't have boundaries: An american in the middle east listening to finnish rock made by a brazilian using japanese technology."
Messages to Jonathan can be left on his MySpace page, which can be visited through the page of Seduced by Suicide - www.myspace.com/seducedbysuicide
Besides of the promotional work of Seduced by Suicide's Gothic Dream, Earth is recording the full length of Blood Tears (doom metal), which should be released in the beginning of 2007.

02.11.2006: Inferno Festival presents DHG
The long missed Norwegian band Dødheimsgard (DHG) will surface on stage during the Inferno 2007. Seven years after the release of "666 International", DHG is back with a new album; "Supervillain Outcast". The new album will be released in January by Moonfog.
ROCKEFELLER/JOHN DEE 5-7 APRIL 2007
The Inferno Festival will be held as usual during Easter – now for the 7th time. Previously announced for Inferno 2007: IMMORTAL (N) The full line-up will be announced at our kick-off party at John Dee the 3rd of February 2007, but we will reveal a few more bands on the bill before Christmas.
Scandinavian Diabolical, Australian tour dates and Japanese tour dates posted here. We are extremely happy to announce the Australian and Japanese shows in particular as we have never been to any of these countries before. Australian shows are already on sale and Japanese shows right around the corner if not already. Sahg will NOT be supporting Satyricon on Scandinavian Diabolical as announced on posters. It is undecided yet who will replace them, but there will be a replacement for them on most shows. On Monday we have our first rehearsal with the horned division of Kringkastingsorkesteret and Oslo Filharmoniske orkester and it is something we can't wait to get started on. Gjallarhorn at Sentrum Scene will be Satyricon in a way you have never heard us before.
Post tour report has been added as well:
Getting online and uploading pictures throughout Europe did not prove itself as easy as we expected! Sorry about that. Well, we're back home now and we are glad to state that this was easily the most succesful Satyricon tour ever. more than 1/3 of the shows were sold out and most of them really well-attended. Playing 31 shows in 5 weeks was rough, but also very rewarding because of the response from the audience. One would assume that black metal fans tend to like the same group of bands in the way that a Satyricon fan is for example a Darkthrone fan and vice versa. Point is that none of us have ever seen such good crowds at other black metal shows. We are starting to think that Satyricon fans are better than other black metal fans! Or maybe it is what we do together, band and fans? It does not matter. It is just very very enjoyable that the shows went so well and that you, the fans, seemed to be so happy.
We would like to think that the band fine-tuned and improved small bits and pieces throughout the tour and that is good stuff that we will bring with us into the next shows. It was also very cool to play songs like A new enemy and To the mountains for the first time. Woods to eternity came out of the closet again too.
Working out and eating better than on previous tours helped us keep in better shape to live up to the standards we set for ourselves. Unfortunately we had the most pathetic tour bus in the world and that certainly drained us from a lot of energy, so a lot of the time during the day was spent relaxing and sleeping to make up for lack of the sleep on the bus. It's kind of hard to sleep inside a washing machine. Due to this there was not a whole lot of sightseeing going on during the day, but we got to go the Giger Museum in Switzerland which was as impressive as you would imagine! Switzerland as a whole is beatiful. Newcastle seemed to be a place with a certain atmosphere as well. Eastern Europe was a whole new and very cool experience. We would like to thank everyone that we worked with on this tour and everyone who came out the shows and displayed your energy and power. A special salute goes out to the French fans for your sincere enthusiasm and dedicatiion.
On another note "Now, Diabolical" has been nominated for "International Album Of The Year" at the Danish Metal Awards 2006 which takes place in Copenhagen on the 18th of November.

22.09.2006: Ticket refunding problems of Purplemoon in Gent
Dear fans and friends in Belgium, as we heard from several fans (and from the former concert promoter´s website) it seems that there are some problems with refunding the tickets for the previously planned show in Gent. As you might have heard, this show is cancelled and will now take place on the 13th of October together with our friends from OMNIA and FAUN in Brussels @ Ten Weyngaert, rue des Alliés (Bondgenotenstraat) 54, 1190 Brussel-Vorst.
We are really sorry and unhappy about this and want to get in contact with the people, who are affected by this problem. We would be happy, if you could write us a short E-mail to refundingproblems@qntal.de, so that we can communicate directly. Please let us point out, that the band is shocked about these problems and will try to find a way for all our fans who know feel disappointed of the behaviour of our former concert promoter Purplemoon.
