22.02.2007: The Misanthropy Project sign with Open Grave Records
Open Grave Records is pleased to announce the signing of Virginia Beach, VA based Stoner/Sludge band The Misanthrope Project. The Misanthrope Project consists of Charlie Lee Beasley – vocals (Lunch, King Travolta, Ex-Mugwart), Ahmasi – bass (Crescent Fresh), Vince – guitar (Beaten Back to Pure, Lunch, Hailhornet), Justin – guitar (Crescent Fresh), Joey Martin – drums (Electric Frankenstein).
A five song CD is presently in the works with a tentative release date set for August. As well as the CD release Land O Smile Records will be releasing a limited edition vinyl pressing.
On 24th of March, 2007 CRYSTAL ABYSS are to perform on the main stage of METALMANIA XXI (Katowice, PL) - one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe. 13.02.2007: Schism sign a deal with Rising Works
Schism have signed a deal for Rising Works, thanks to the Alkemist Fanatix management mediation. The italian band, devoted to a particular Metal approach in which maths, psychedelic and huge significant references to the 90's underground music join together, will publish its debut "Designation Cluster" for Frank Andiver's Label. The album will be out in the first half of 2007, and will be followed by the Italian and European tour. Recordings will start in March. "Designation Cluster" will be produced by Frank Andiver (Labyrinth) and recorded at Zenith Recording Studio.
For fans of Tool, Mastodon, Isis, Neurosis, Soundgarden and Melvins.

05.02.2007: Alice in Darkland released new Promo 2006
Alice in Darkland, an Italian symphonic metal band that have yet released a full lenght album (2002/2003) through Nocturnal Music Records; this work "The Evil's Entrails" has been selled and well-reviewed all over the world.
Alice in Darkland was brought to life in January 1999 from an idea of Alice Elizabeth Chiarelli (ex session keyboards player of Lacuna Coil -1998). Two months later they released their first studio work "Bewitching the Mind": two tracks of symphonic and melancholic death metal with gothic-dark influences. In this recording Wrathlord of Doomsword / Fiurach was the drummer.
In June 2000 they released another album "Through Violet Perversion", four tracks of aggressive and powerful symphonic death metal. In this recording Mat Stancioiu of Labyrinth/ Vision Divine was the drummer.
In September 2001 they finally got the chance to record and release their first real album through Nocturnal Music. From July 2002 the “The Evil’s Entrails” CD was available in the stores all over the world with a lot of very positive rewiews from national and international magazines.
From 2003 to 2006, with a new line-up, they’ve developed a new stylistics evolution in the composition of new songs introducing clean voices and electro-industrial elements.
In December 2006 the new promo 2006 is out: two tracks of symphonic and gothic progressive metal with electro-industrial influences. In this recording Mat Stancioiou of Labyrinth is the drummer.

01.02.2007: Kekal announces release of The Habit Of Fire
August 2005, after 10 years of existence as a band, KEKAL decided to move forward and to come deep into musical territories yet unexplored by the band. Throughout the year 2006, KEKAL was busy recording and shaping their 6th album entitled "The Habit of Fire", an ambitious project which marks a new statement for the band. "The Habit of Fire" is an experimental (but yet accessible) 70-minute epic concept album of 'urban avantgarde metal', with a liberal use of electronic elements and mix of countless musical sub-genres to accompany their trademark guitar-driven soundscapes. "The Habit of Fire" is coming this fall on Open Grave Records (NORTH AMERICA/AUSTRALIA/JAPAN) and Whirlwind Records (EUROPE).
KEKAL started out in 1995 as a more straightforward extreme metal band. Throughout the first 5 years, they developed their own style by incorporating many diverse elements from outside metal, but not until they released "The Painful Experience" (2001), their 3rd album which marked as a starting point for the band to step more and more into the progressive territory and started to make further experiments with their music.
In 2003, they released "1000 Thoughts of Violence", an album that has gained a lot of attention even beyond the Asian region due to the uniqueness of their music, combining elements of jazz-fusion, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, trip-hop, experimental electronic and ambient music, and blend them together into their own distinct style. Critics then started to cite Kekal among the finest independent avant-garde metal bands, and they toured Europe for the first time in 2004. In 2005 they released their 5th album "Acidity".
March 15th will see the European release on Whirlwind Records, with a May 15th release date set for the North America, Australia & Japan release of Kekal's 6th album, "The Habit of Fire" on Open Grave Records.

Finland based Rebellion Brothers has entered into an exclusive U.S. Distribution deal with Open Grave Records/Distribution. This deal will make Rebellion Brothers releases available via all major and independent US retail stores. The first album to see it’s official US release will be Goathemy’s, “Frostland”, which will hit stores on April 24th 2007, followed by Goathemy’s yet untitled 2nd album later in the year.

Karlshamn Sweden based melodic death metal band BLINDED COLONY have recently updated their official MYSPACE PAGE with four brand new songs from their sophomore release, Bedtime Prayers, which was released today worldwide through Florida based record label Pivotal Rockordings. 03.01.2007: Atrocity makes samples of 'Contaminated' available online
Reunited Torrington, Connecticut-based thrash/hardcore act ATROCITY (not to be confused with the German band) have posted 30 second samples of every track off of the upcoming "Contaminated" CD which features alternative recordings from the original "Infected" sessions. These sample are currently being streamed at www.opengraverecords.com
Formed in early 1985 by Rob Wedda (vocals), Rich Flint (bass), Scott Reynolds (guitar) and Jeff White (drums), ATROCITY had pushed out three demos ("Toxic Death", "Ravaged by Disease", "Mangled") and a self-financed seven-inch EP, entitled "Hatred Birth", by 1989. They soon caught the attention of U.K.-based Metalcore Records, a subsidiary of Plastichead Distribution, whom they ultimately signed with.
ATROCITY's first album, "Infected" (1990), is very raw and featured a very violent death metal/grind sound. The second album, "The Art of Death" (1992), saw a lineup change when Scott left the band and was replaced by Jesse Piechowski on guitar.
January 30 will see the release of "Contaminated", which is currently available for preorder via the Open Grave Records webstore.

The brazilian black metal label Evil Imperium Records recently launched their website. Founded by Mateus Andretta and João Carlos Vieira, who are fighting in the metal scene for over 10 years, the label has as their first release a limited edition of Melancholic Art's debut, Força Black Metal Pampeano, which is being released with a new artwork cover and will also be distributed in North America through the label Sinister Sounds.
The first releases distributed in Brazil by Evil Imperium are Of Human Bondage's "The Goat Sessions Vol. II", and Eternal's "Satanic Templars of the Dark Age".

Some other bands play because it is in their blood, their culture, their history and folklore and life would not be the same without it... Primordial is one of these bands.
Anaal Nathrakh was created for one purpose - to be the soundtrack for Armageddon, the sounding essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes. It has never been subject to hype, never been a vehicle for personal promotion, and never claimed anything it couldn't deliver musically.

22.12.2006: Blinded Colony, music video posted online and tour dates annouced with Ektomorf
Karlshamn Sweden's BLINDED COLONY have posted the music video for their first single "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" on their MYSPACE PAGE, their OFFICIAL WEBSITE as well as the newly launched Pivotal Rockordings YOUTUBE channel. "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" comes from BLINDED COLONY's forthcoming album, Bedtime Prayers which is due out January 9 Worldwide and January 12 in Europe. The video was filmed in the band's hometown of Karlshamn and was produced by director Thomas Tjäder (In Flames). Guitarist Tobias Olsson had the following to say regarding the video for "Once Bitten, Twice Shy":
"As you can see we release our the official video for "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" today. It was originally recorded in late 2005, but re-edited once again by TThomas Tjäder (In Flames), check it out and let us know what you think about it! Some of you may have seen the old version of the video with 'demo' version of "Once Bitten, Twice Shy", but we encourage you to not watch that one since it is now outdated. Check out the new one, spread it to your friends, and enjoy it!"
BLINDED COLONY will also hit the road with Hungary's EKTOMORF for an extensive European/UK tour in February and March. Guitarist Tobbe Olsson had the following to say regarding the tour:
"We are doing a European tour together with Ektomorf stretching from the 1th of Feb to the 10th of March. 17.12.2006: Downlord Final Mastered Samples Available Now
DOWNLORD, the Danish death metal band featuring ex-BOLT THROWER/BENEDICTION vocalist Dave Ingram and former members of INIQUITY, DAEMON, and SUPERFICIAL, have released 30-second clips of the final mastered versions of each track off their debut album, "Random Dictionary Of The Damned", due out January 30 on Open Grave Records.
For a limited time, Open Grave Records will be giving away with pre-orders of the album the limited-edition "Grind Trials" mini-CD. Part of this added bonus will be that one lucky fan will receive number "666" of this limited-edition CD. Number "666" is signed by the entire band.

Darzamat will take part in the two festivals in Germany. The first of them, namely Last Night On the Earth, will take place as soon as on the next Saturday (16th of December in Antrochte).
